Learning Vocabulary in Signing

Wish to learn some vocabulary in Sign Language? Here's some:

BOOK

Put your hands together, then open while the sides are still touching each other, like a book.

CRY

Point up your index and middle finger and both hands, bring them to below your eyes, and move your hands downward.

DRAW

Hold one hand up, stick up your pinky at the other hand, and touch your plam, then move it around.

EAT

Put your fingers together on one hand, and put them to your lips.

HUG

Cross both arms over your chest to the other side, and touch your back.

LEG

Place your hand on the side of your thigh.

LETTER

Place your thumb at the edge of your lips, then bring down and place of your palm.

ME

Point to yourself while touching your chest.

MOUTH

Move your index finger around your lips.

NOSE

Point and touch the side of your nostril.

PANTS

Place your hands on your hips, then move them upward.

RAIN


Hold your hands out in front of you, your knuckles facing up, and fingers bent downward. Then move your hands downward.

SNOW

Do the same steps as in "Rain", but have your fingers shake gentlly while they come downward.

SORRY


Put your hand into a fist, and put it to your chest, moving it in a circular movement.

THIRSTY

Tilt your head upward a bit, then touch your throat with your index finger.

UP

Stretch out your arm up into the air.

YOU

Point to the person you're talking to.
